As a general dentist, Dr. Ontiveros specializes in preventative and restorative dentistry. Preventative care is the cornerstone to maintaining healthy teeth and gums, which is vital to your overall physical health. We aim to educate our patients in proper home care practices and encourage routine visits to our office for dental cleanings and exams.
Optimal oral health begins at home and is the cornerstone of preventative dentistry.
We encourage our patients to visit our office regularly for routine dental exams and cleanings.
Routine dental exams and cleanings ensure that your mouth stays healthy and disease free. Dental exams include screening for gum disease, cavities, broken teeth, oral cancer, and more.
Learn MoreThere are two types of fillings used to repair tooth decay, such as cavities, or teeth that have been broken because of trauma: composite and amalgam fillings.
Unlike composite fillings, amalgam fillings simply fill the problem area of a tooth and are a noticeable, silver color. With composite fillings, a resin-based material is bonded to the tooth using adhesives, preserving and strengthening the remaining tooth structure. Composite fillings are also known as white or tooth colored fillings, giving you a more natural look after the repair.
At Rocky Mountain Dental Group, we only offer composite fillings to better serve you and your dental needs.
Rocky Mountain Dental Group offers periodontal therapy for patients with active periodontitis, more commonly known as gum disease.
Gum disease is a common infection that damages the soft tissue and bone that support the tooth. Without treatment, gum disease leads to bone and teeth loss and in some cases, it can damage the heart, kidneys and lungs.
In the presence of gum disease, our goal is to help regenerate jaw bone if needed and prevent tooth loss. We will work with you individually to create a treatment plan that may involve scaling and root planing along with laser treatment of the infected areas - this will remove tartar and bacteria by sterilizing the periodontal pockets, giving your mouth an opportunity to return to normal conditions.
We welcome all mini patients at Rocky Mountain Dental Group! We are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. Dr. Ontiveros is very experienced in treating children and providing little ones with the tender care they deserve.
Tooth decay or cavities is among the most chronic childhood ailments. Although baby teeth are eventually replaced with permanent, adult teeth, it is essential to a child’s overall health and development to maintain healthy baby teeth.
In addition to treating every child that comes to see us, our goal is to also educate parents on how to properly maintain their children’s teeth and which foods and drinks can cause tooth decay. Our team is here to create a positive experience for our mini patients and their parents!
